BiopharmaChem Ireland is the leading Irish Association representing the biopharma and chemical sectors. The industry is worth €100 billion to the economy in terms of exports. There are now more than 84,000 highly skilled people directly and indirectly employed in the sector and the expectation is that this will increase by up to 10,000 jobs over the next five years. The sector has also continued to be very successful in attracting international capital investments in the last decade – much of this in the manufacture and development of biotech products.
The Task
The objective was to build a conference to bring together industry, government, regulators and the research community to communicate the unique position of Ireland as the “leading global location for the manufacture and supply of biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals” and to ensure that the sector continues to grow and flourish.
The Solution
Shellcove worked with BPCI to develop an agenda covering the topics of Regulatory, Industry and Policy innovation. The company also worked closely with IDA in terms of the delivery of the event at their facility which they provided for the event. Shellcove provided full management of the event including online promotion and communications, sponsorship management, website materials and event management for an evening dinner at Dublin Castle.

The Result
This event attracted a max expected attendance of 120 delegates across industry, academia and government. This event has laid the groundwork for a larger BiopharmaChem conference which is planned for May 23rd at Fota Island in Cork.
